Why Apparently Rewarding Business Ideas Fail

Business Ideas 300x296 Why Apparently Rewarding Business Ideas Fail

Many entrepreneurs fail to understand that despite having brilliant ideas and implementing them to the core they fail to derive the desired results. Reason for such unwarranted situation is that while the idea may be brilliant, it needs proper implementation or some polishing.

Most important in the process is to learn about the exact start up time. Planning something and implementing the same to the satisfaction of all are two different propositions altogether. A process is required to be carried out that will determine the success or failure in any business.

One of the reasons for failure of most such ideas is that they are conceived but the planner fails to find out judiciously whether the plan is feasible at the end of it. And the so called great idea just ends up in smoke leaving the planner high and dry.

Things that one often forgets is adequate market research and feeling the market pulse; so essential for success.

Action: MyBiz starts the development of enterprise cultures by stimulating “can do” attitudes. Guiding people on a journey that helps them to make a positive change; an individual’s goal could see them becoming more enterprising in the workplace, in education, in the community or making the decision to start their own business.

Programme elements;

Enterprise Champions linking MyBiz champions, those that have come through the programme and started their own venture, to the people about to start on their new journey helps make the connection between their lives, their future and enterprise.

Lessons: The lessons from the programme will be useful for policy makers and practitioners, when considering:
> How to engage people from different groups and different areas
> Avoiding the line of least resistance (e.g. servicing latent demand) and stay focused on what you are trying to achieve
> Dealing with short-term and target driven focus (i.e targets that result in mission-drift).
> Big principles for LEP’s to consider when implementing local enterprise programmes
> How the lessons learnt apply to the concept of a Big Society
> Capacity building/development needs for communities and practitioners,

MyB!z and Aspiring Communities programmes

‘ It really is a busy week at Winning Moves this week, yesterday saw the website launch and today sees the launch of our MyB!z and Aspiring Communities programmes.

MyB!z was originally developed as part of the Sharing the Success programme, the Leeds LEGI initiative and has been so successful we have decided to introduce it as one or our core enterprise support products. Designed to bridge the gap between outreach and business advice MyB!z helps individuals develop their ideas, aspirations, confidence and self belief prior to engaging in more formal or main stream business support.

Built around a schedule of four workshops, the MyB!z programme helps individuals address some big questions, clarify, evaluate and develop an idea, create an exciting vision and drive it forward. Time is spent understanding the market for a product or service and improving skills to sell not only the business idea but also the person behind it before focusing on priorities, both business and personal, enabling a clear action plan to be created.

Aspiring Communities is a new approach to making positive change based on a tried and tested model of community development that aims to develop the capacity and infrastructure within a community. Built on the belief that skills and resources needed for transformation exist within every community, Aspiring Communities is designed to draw them out and establish community members as champions resulting in a community with direction, increased levels of enterprise, motivated learners and enterprising employees and volunteers.
